How to choose an apartment locator

Almost all apartment locators do not charge a fee for their service.  In fact the apartment communities themselves pay a referral fee to the locating company.  Typically the resident must write the locator company name on the GUEST CARDS and APPLICATIONS  for the fee to be paid.  Many locators will even offer to send a “gift card” or “gift check” to the future resident.  Most locators will email potential prospects lists of properties  based upon various factors. From there the prospect may contact the apartment communities themselves or the locator will contact the property on behalf of their customer.  On a side note; individuals should ask how and when they will receive credit from the locator once they move in.  Beware some locators around town are running scams as they will not pay their customers the promised monies.
